Synopsis
The programme, Provide Care for Elderly Persons at Home (Classroom-Based) aims to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to care for their elderly loved ones at home. This is conducted in our center’s simulation lab where learners will be immersed in group activities, role-plays and hands-on practices. The programme is conducted by qualified and registered Singaporean nurses and its syllabus includes the following:

Identify general needs of elderly persons • Maintain personal hygiene of elderly persons

Prepare a safe toilet at home for elderly persons

Prepare daily nutritional requirements for elderly persons

Prevent growth of pressure sores

Assist with ambulation and physiotherapeutic activities

Perform basic home care

Manage demands of caregiving
